To: All Persons Interested In Energy Siting Issues For Washington State

The Joint Legislative Task Force on Energy Facility Siting and the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council would like to invite your attendance and participation in a Symposium on Energy Facility Siting for Washington State.

The two day symposium will take place at the Best Western Executive Inn at Fife, (directions included) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. The first day, October 2, 2000, will host several guest speakers and have panel discussions to elicit comments and feedback from all participants. The second day, October 3, 2000, will be set aside for meetings of the work groups involved in the Joint Legislative Task Force.

The purpose of the symposium is to aid legislators, EFSEC members and the public in gathering information regarding the energy industry, the siting process and alternatives, and issues that should be addressed by the Task Force and EFSEC to improve the siting process. Experts from Washington State and other western states will provide information and be available for group discussions throughout both days.

A draft agenda is attached for your review. Please note that it is subject to modification.

There is no charge for the symposium. The sponsors request that you pre-register for the conference, which will help our planning process and to better serve you. Pre-registering will allow us to provide you with a nametag, a preliminary roster and handouts.

We look forward to seeing you on October 2 and 3 and having a very productive symposium.

Sincerely,

Deborah Ross, EFSEC Chair Facilitator
Jim Arthur, Joint Legislative Task Force
